Mike Smith joins the Army West Point cross country and track & field programs after spending the past 20 years at Kansas State University.

Smith, who has coached two Olympians and an NCAA champion, has been a part of three Big 12 championship teams. He becomes the 11th coach in program history.

Boglarka Davies enters her first year with the Army West Point staff after spending the previous two seasons with Kansas State. A former Wildcat All-American runner, she served as an assistant with her alma mater after spending a year as the volunteer assistant cross country coach.

The 2013 Kansas State alum was coached by Mike Smith during his tenure with the Wildcats. Under Smith’s tutelage, Davies was a two-time All-American, a Big 12 Champion, and holds K-State school records on two relays and the indoor 800m (2:05.16).

Jacob McDougle enters his first year with the Army West Point staff after spending the past two years as the recruiting assistant for the Nebraska track & field and cross country programs. Prior to his administrative position with the Huskers, he served as a volunteer coach for the track and field and cross country programs at Nebraska.

"Jacob came onto my radar last fall as I was discussing my move to Army West Point with some of my colleagues at the University of Nebraska,” said Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Mike Smith. “He was a tireless worker behind the scenes. His organizational skills, his desire to learn and his work ethic became evident as I recruited him to join us and I am confident that he will make a difference in our program."

Neil Baroody enters his first season with the Army West Point staff after two years at Northeastern University as an assistant track & field coach and recruiting coordinator.

Baroody will primarily focus on vertical jumps and combined events.

In 2017-18, Baroody helped lead junior Paige Suse to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor East Regional Championship, the CAA conference championship in the high jump, and the outdoor school record in the high jump. He also coached senior Nick Fofana to the CAA conference championship in the decathlon and the school record in the men's heptathlon.

In his first season with the Huskies, Baroody led sophomore Paige Suse to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor East Regional Championship and the indoor school record in the high jump. He also coached junior Nick Fofana to the CAA conference championship in the decathlon and freshman Travis Kartz to the CAA conference championship in the pole vault.

Joe Reed was hired as an assistant track and field coach in the summer of 2016.

Reed will focus on the Black Knights sprinters, hurdlers and field events.

Angelo Posillico joins the Army West Point track and field staff as the new assistant coach, working primarily with the throwers, for the 2017-18 season. Posillico comes to Army after serving as the Director of Cross Country and Track and Field at Springfield College.

"We are fortunate to add Angelo Posillico to our staff," stated Cross Country and Track and Field Head Coach Mike Smith. "Angelo comes to us with a great deal of experience as a coach, and I look forward to seeing how he interacts with our cadet-athletes. I think he brings a wealth of education, certification, and experience to our program from both a coaching and recruiting perspective."
