Army West Point head coach, Web Wright, heads into his third season with the Black Knights. Lt. Col. (Retired) Web Wright III, an Olympian and national champion, was named the Army West Point rifle coach on May 12, 2015.

Wright became the 25th coach in the 87-year history of the program that was established in 1919.

Army West Point head rifle coach Web Wright announced the addition of assistant coach Michael Matthews to his staff in November 2016.

1st Lt. Michael Matthews, who graduated from West Point in 2014, returns after three seasons to coach at his alma mater.

Rachel Martin joined the Army West Point rifle staff in October 2018.

Martin comes to West Point as one of most decorated shooters in the history of the University of Nebraska shooting program. During her time in Nebraska, Martin was a seven-time All-American. The 2015 Smallbore National Champion led the Huskers to the NCAA Championships in each of her four seasons, including top five finishes in 2014 (fifth) and 2015 (fourth). Martin etched her way into the record books, breaking the school record for highest air rifle score by a sophomore (597), highest air rifle score by a junior (596), highest air rifle score by a senior (595) and highest overall air rifle score (597).

In addition to her collegiate success, Martin represented the United States on seven World Cup teams.

Following her graduation from the university, Martin spent a year as a resident athlete at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Martin is a native of Peralta, N.M. and earned her bachelor’s degree in Global and Religious Studies from the University of Nebraska in May of 2017.
